Publishing credits meter

Dashboard → Social shows Publishing credits used vs your plan limit, with Top up when you are near or over — the same pattern as email usage on Audience.

What counts as a write

  • One post to one platform (Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, or X)
  • One first comment on that platform when it posts successfully
A three-platform post with first comments on each costs six writes. Failed targets and refused comments cost nothing.

AI image generation in the media picker still uses AI credits — only Chirio publish actions use publishing credits.

Pre-flight checks

  • Approve — advisory estimate so reviewers know the cost
  • Post now — blocks when balance is too low
  • Scheduled dispatcher — fails the target with a clear error if credits run out at publish time
Retries never double-charge targets that already published.

X on paid plans

X connect and publish require Starter or above. On the free plan, the accounts strip shows Paid plans on the X row instead of a connect button — so teams do not draft, approve, and only then discover X was never available. X also costs more publishing credits per write than Meta or LinkedIn — 25 without a link, 325 when the caption or first comment contains a URL. That link-in-comments pattern is the expensive shape on X specifically.
