Media Library Folders and Unified Picker — One Org Library Across Sites
Shared media picker with folder sidebar, merged org + site sources, All sites filter, and Generate with AI in a stacked dialog. Reference images and aspect ratio everywhere AI images are generated.
Every dashboard media picker now shares one organization library. Organize uploads into nestable folders, filter by org media and any site, and generate AI images in a stacked dialog with reference images and aspect ratio — without leaving the grid.
What we shipped
Image pickers were fragmented — site editor, social, and email each felt like separate libraries. This release unifies them and adds the organization tools teams asked for.
Unified library and sources
One picker lists organization media and per-site uploads in a single newest-first grid. The Sources dropdown checks which buckets to include. An All sites toggle above the site list selects or clears every site at once (never leaving zero sources when you only meant to reset sites). The site editor defaults to the current site; social and email default to org-wide views — same component, context-aware filters.
Folder sidebar
A left folder tree mirrors the Pages file tree interaction model:
All images root — always present; cannot be deleted
Create, rename, delete, and nest folders with drag-and-drop
Drag images from the grid into folders; drop on All images to clear assignment
Upload or paste into the selected folder automatically
Folders are metadata only — storage objects never move, so existing image URLs on live pages, emails, and social assets keep working. Deleting a folder removes assignments, not files.
Generate with AI — stacked dialog
The old Library / AI tab switch is gone. The library is always visible; Generate with AI opens the generator in a stacked dialog on top. You can browse references, pick aspect ratio, and return to the grid without losing context.Reference images and aspect ratio now work everywhere AI images are generated — site editor, social media picker, and email blocks. Pick a reference from the library for style or character consistency; each generation still consumes org AI credits.
Why we built it this way
Creators upload the same logo, hero, and campaign art across sites, newsletters, and social. One library with folders beats three disconnected upload dialogs. Keeping folders as labels avoids the broken-link problem that comes from physically moving files in object storage.
Stacking the AI panel instead of tabbing respects a common workflow: find a reference in the library, generate a variant, select it — without the picker forgetting where you were.
Try it
Open any site → insert a Media block → open the image picker.
Create a Brand folder, upload a logo into it, and confirm it appears under that folder and under All images.
Check a second site's Sources box — its uploads merge into the same grid.
Click Generate with AI, pick an aspect ratio, optionally Add reference from the library, and save the result into your folder.
Social and email pickers use the same library — see Media library for the full guide.
